We're fundraising while we train for our race so we can make a difference in the lives of kids with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
We are running for Dylan. He just passed in June. He had been a St Jude patient for 11 years. St Jude has become a second home for him and his family, and staff have become like family. Over the 11 years he was there, he was always greeted and cared for by the same staff. It is comforting when you are greeted with a warm smile from a staff member that recognizes you and asks about your latest adventures while being home. It's nice not having to update someone about your child's history because of staff turnover and I think that speaks volumes to how well St Jude does things. They provide the best care possible because they have the best of the best working there. We don't worry about a bill nor do we worry about where we will stay or how we will afford it because St Jude provides housing while there for appointments/treatment. I encourage you to donate whatever amount you can (even if it's only a dollar or two because those add up) to help St Jude continue their mission of research so "no child has to die in the dawn of life". Please help them continue the admirable care they provide the children, like my son Dylan, every day-- always going above and beyond.
