St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Nashville Marathon & 1/2 Marathon

AC & The Tough Kids

In December 2011 6 year old Audrey Stanger (AC) walked into St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital for the first time. She brought with her two scared parents, a nervous smile, and a baseball sized tumor in her chest. In the time that has followed the incredible staff and supporters of St. Jude have helped nurse her back to full health. As brave as she has been she hasn't walked this road alone; she has been buoyed by her incredible support system of family and friends. That support continues as we run as a team in the St.Jude Country Music Marathon on April 29 to support Audrey and her fellow St Jude patients, the ones Audrey calls "the tough kids".

  • Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about it helping their child live.
  • Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
