This June I will be running my 5th marathon. This year I wanted to run for a cause and I chose St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In February 2014 a close friends daughter collapsed and was later diagnosed with a Crainiopharyngioma Brain Tumor. They have made 10 trips to St Jude located in Memphis, Tennessee. At first it was every 3 months and now they go every 6 months. After 30 rounds of proton radiation therapy the tumor is no longer visible on a MRI. They will need to return to St jude every 6 months for 5 1/2 years. St Jude has made a very difficult time for this amazing family less difficult. Their daughter is an example of bravery and she’s kicking the tumors butt! This year I will be running for her and all the kids affected by various forms of cancer.
I’m choosing to run for more than myself. I'm using my running to help save kids' lives by fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as I train. I'm running for kids who might be too sick to run today, but who could one day be running alongside me because the money I raised helped find a cure for childhood cancer.
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food -- because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
Please donate and help me reach my goal!
