Hi, friends. Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I'm running the 2018 Goofy Race-and-a-Half challenge at Walt Disney World to raise money for children's cancer research at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
This means that I will be running the Disney Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on Saturday, January 6, followed by the full Disney Marathon (26.2 miles) on Sunday, January 7. According to my 11-year-old daughter, that adds up to 39.3 miles over the course of two days.
You are probably thinking something like "Jason is crazy for doing this," or "Jason must really enjoy inflicting enormous physical pain and suffering on himself," or "If that lazy bastard Jason can do it, then I can too!" If so, you would be correct on all counts.
Even though I may be crazy, I'm doing it for a very important cause. I'm running to benefit St. Jude because (1) I lost my dear mom to cancer in 2011, and (2) I was shocked to learn that less than 5% of federal cancer research funding is directed to pediatric cancer.
If you're reading this, then you may have lost someone you love to cancer too. I really hope you will help me meet my $1000.00 goal.
To entice you to contribute, I offer the following reward: everyone who donates (and everyone who doesn't donate, for that matter) will be able to see my progress on Facebook. I'm planning on posting live updates during the race, as well as photos of the gruesome and painful aftermath. If we meet the fundraising goal, I may even share some of my top-secret training routines and race preparation techniques. I think you'll really enjoy my patented mix of wit and wisdom!
Thanks for your time and support,
