Hi, I'm Samantha Skowron. I am 19 and have been a patient at St. Jude's since 2012. When I was 13 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, I am the 3rd cousin in my family to have a blood related cancer! Since I was little I ALWAYS wanted to work at St. Judes since I witnessed so many loved ones pass away from this terrible battle, or they conquered it. I consider myself lucky though to go through this, because it brought me to so many opportunities and I've met so many amazing people I never would have. With meeting so many amazing people at St. Judes, I've even met my bestfriend Samantha Elliot who also is a patient. We both go to Kent State together. God had a plan for both of us and I'm blessed he brought us together. I am joining Samantha's team for this half marathon. Since St. Jude saved my life, I want to give back. My goal is $3000. Every penny counts. I cannot express my love for all the support for my first half marathon and for all the donations. St. Jude saved my life and if it wasn't for the wonderful donations they receive every day and the amazing doctors, who knows if I would be still here today! I'm running to save lives!
St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Thanks to donors like you:
Thank you for donating and helping me reach my goal for the kids of St. Jude!
