I am dedicating my 2017 training and marathon running to help raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
I am running in memory of Grace Bushey, who was taken away from her family and friends too soon.
Grace was a freshman at Mason High School where she was an honor student and pursued her many interests of volleyball, swimming, and track. Grace was a beautiful, strong, smart girl that always had a smile on her face bringing joy and happiness to all who were around her.
Grace was a member of the St. James Church R.O.C.K. youth group, and a friend of my children through school and church. I came to know Grace when she was a student in my St. James 5th grade catechism class.
PLEASE HELP! St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Thanks to donors like you:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
My next big run is the Bayshore Marathon, Traverse City (MI), Memorial Day weekend. (Look for me wearing the St. Jude shirt.) And later this year I hope to run the St. Jude Research Hospital Marathon, Memphis (TN). Please help! And thank you for donating and helping me reach my goal for the kids of St. Jude!
