In May of 2012, some of our good friends from Ft. Hood, TX got some devastating news. Their son Max had Glioblastoma Multiforme or GBM. GBM is the most common and most aggressive cancer that begins with the brain. Max was just a fun loving, cheerful 8 year old boy. He fought his cancer head on and took on the role of "Jedi Max" as he had a passion for Star Wars. Through countless days in and out of the hospital he fought on and on. He lost his battle on May 21st, 2013. I am running this race and raising money in honor of him.
On April 30th, I will be running my very 3rd Half Marathon as a St. Jude Hero and I am extremely proud of committing to this. I plan on working my butt off to come across that finish line and come across strong, but I need your help. In addition to the gift of free treatment for families with children facing cancer, you're also funding important research.
Magic will not cure cancer. Research will. St Jude raised the survival rate for a child facing ALL, the most common form of childhood cancer, from 4% to 94%!! They're aiming for 100% survival rate, just as you would if it were your child diagnosed.
St Jude asks for NO MONEY from the family — because all you need to worry about when your child is sick, is helping them live.
Please, cheer me on as I train for this most important event. $5, $10, $15, $20, $25...no amount is too small and every dollar counts! I promise I'll make you proud!!
If everyone of my friends donated just $5, I would be able to reach my goal. Please help if you can. Thanks.
Thank you for helping me run St. Jude! Those kids could be ours. Please share the link with your friends and encourage them to donate as well.
