A week from this Saturday, we will host the 7th annual Give Hope Run 5k, started in honor of our son Sean, who passed away April 3, 2010 at age 5 from a cancerous brain tumor. Many of you have donated to this event in the past, for which we are incredibly grateful. St Jude continues to make progress, with treatments and capabilities...some that were not available for Sean but are helping kids today survive more, longer, and with better quality of life.
While we always run in Sean's memory, this year we also run in honor of Darcy Cassidy, 13, whose family we met while Sean and Darcy were in brain tumor treatment together. Thanks to new medicines, Darcy's tumor was kept stable for the past 7 years. Unfortunately, her tumor has now returned and there is little more that St Jude or anyone else can do. We attended Darcy's 13th birthday party in Texas a few weeks ago. She and her family appreciate every next day as a gift.
Thank you for your generosity!
Craig, Katie, Connor, Anna, Ian, Matthew, and always, Sean.
