I am not a fan of blanket solicitations, I am once again, for the 4th year in a row, running in St. Jude Marathon Weekend, in December, I have commited to rasing $2500.00 for St. Judes Hospital.
I am asking that each of you, please help me to reach this goal. Last year when I ran, I came upon a young lady, approx 16-18 Years old, wearing a jacket, Surgicial mask, ball cap, i saw no visiable hair. She held a sign which read, " Because you ran, I survived". I cried, no in fact i sobbed... the emotions that day were a roller coster... I tell you this, beacuse of the great job that St. Judes does... I ask, No Im begging for even your pocket change. Help me to raise awarness or even save the life of a child. I got to see this young woman last year. I stopped and got to explain to her, her affect on me and we hugged ! She assured me, she would be along the route for as long as she was able..
Did you know?
•Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
•Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from people like you, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation. (That means your donation, no matter what the size, will help!)
•St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90% by 2020.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies of cancer, and neither will I. Will you join me and be a Hero, too?
Thank you for your help.
