Five years ago Billy and I were not runners. I never ran a day in my life and even all through school and high school I would walk the scheduled mile runs or I would purposley not dress for gym class on those days so I didn't have to run. When I started my new health and fitness journey 5 years ago, I started running with a beginners app on my phone with a goal of running a 5k that spring for the boys school fundraiser. That's when a friend who was already a member of Team WFRE said you should join our team to raise money for St. Jude. Come to Nashville and run the half marathon with us. She said it's so rewarding and fun. I made the leap of faith and joined the team with a goal of running a 1/2 marathon that coming spring. But running is only a very small part of what we do. When you think about it, what is 13.1 miles compared to what these children and their families are going through each and every day. I can't explain the feeling that you get from raising money and awareness for the families that are suffering. Children shouldn't have to live with cancer.
Billy and I are ready to go the distance, but we need your support again this year. It costs $2 million a day to operate St. Jude. Did you know that 70% of the funds come from the public? That means your donation, no matter what the size, will help! Thanks to donors like you, no family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies of cancer, and neither will I. Will you join us and be a Hero, too?
To quote Danny Thomas "No Child should die in the dawn of life" We need your support to help us reach our fund raising goals for the kids of St. Jude.
Thank you for your donation and helping us run St. Jude!
