I am overly-blessed with two healthy children who are growing like weeds. They make me laugh and smile everyday! They haven't a care in the world, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
But many kids aren't that lucky. For those kids who have been diagnosed with cancer, their worries outweigh any my kids have ever considered.
This year, I am walking in honor of two of the strongest people I've ever met.
Jake was a high school freshman and only fourteen when his family heard that horrible word. He fought an incredible battle with grace and smile on his face. Less than seven months after his diagnosis, Jake passed on July 13, 2015.
Dylan was only in kindergarten when his family heard that dreaded six-letter word. He passed on Nov. 5, 2013. He was only 6 1/2 years old.
While nothing will ever bring them back, I will walk every year with St. Jude until there is a cure for every type of cancer. No child should be taken in the prime of their life. No family should ever have to watch their kid go through this. Please consider donating!!!
How your donation helps:
- Thanks to donors like you, no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
- St. Jude will continue to improve the treatment of childhood cancer and other deadly diseases through its groundbreaking research.
Thank you for your support!
