I choose to walk for a reason far greater than myself. I walk for kids who are too sick to walk today; but one day could be walking beside me because the money donated helped find the cure for childhood cancers. I was touched by my daughter, Shelby, who convinced me to do my first half marathon in 2012 for her friend, Kelly, who had passed away in 7th grade. I continue to walk for Kelly, she was only 12 when she lost her battle. This will be my 4th half marathon apart of Team S.N.A.R.K.Y. (Seriously Not About Running K's Y'all). I walk with my team to help raise money to help find a cure for childhood illness. The feeling you get when you walk the beautiful street of Nashville knowing what that you are there for the children who cannot be, it's just overwhelming. If you have healthy children, grandchildren, or any other children you hold dear to in your heart, please donate in honor of them. Thank you.
