Walking For Reasons Everywhere.
WFRE is once again sending a team to Nashville for the St. Jude Country Music Marathon and Half Marathon on April 27. Each of our team members is walking in support of children battling cancer and other deadly diseases at St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital. Because St Jude helps kids all across the country, including right here in our own community, it truly is a hospital without walls. Each of those kids is a reason that we train and fundraise.
If you thought you never could complete a half marathon ? that?s 13.1 miles! ? think again! Last year, there were people of all shapes and sizes who came out and finished the race. Come out to one of our group training walks and try it out. We have such a great time together and we feel better about ourselves because of it. We?re hanging out with friends, getting fit and helping others all at the same time. So fun!
Join the team now and start fundraising to support St Jude Children's Research Hospital! If you commit to raising at least $1,000, your race registration is free plus you get access to all kinds of cool race weekend activities like the St. Jude Heroes pasta party and the post-race tent with catered food and private bathrooms (you?ll want this, trust me!). If you decide to raise $2,500, St Jude will also provide a two-night hotel stay in Nashville on race weekend. Commit to raising $3,500 and St Jude will cover your airfare too! Another cool benefit with joining this race is free tickets to a post-race concert. Last year, we got to see Glorianna and Rodney Atkins perform in Bridgestone arena. And, to keep you entertained, there are also bands lining the course. It?s super cool!
