This memorial fund is in memory of Patricia Falkowitz, also known as Pat, Patty, Pattela, Patty Cakes, Patty Google, Patty Wagon, or just simply Mom.
Patty somewhat unexpectedly passed last Sunday night, October 22, 2017 around 11pm, losing her battle with COPD. As many of you know, she was officially diagnosed less than a year ago, but she had been experiencing symptoms for years, and the disease had progressed very quickly in the past few months. Sunday night she laid down on the couch to take a nap, in her usual spot next to Gene, and went peacefully.
Everyone that knew Patty knows that her spirit was one of empathy and compassion. She loved deeply, with all her heart, and she felt connected to the world in a way that is truly enviable. She was a second mom to everyone she met, opening her home and taking in family, friends, friends of friends, and sometimes almost-strangers. We want to honor Patty's spirit, her sense of humanity and her sense of generosity. In that vein, we ask in lieu of flowers to make a donation to St. Jude in Patty's name. Our mom has supported St. Jude since we can remember, giving, in true Patty fashion, even when she had very little. PLEASE DO NOT FEEL LIKE WHAT YOU CAN GIVE IS NOT ENOUGH. What you can give is always enough.
While Patty has been survived by her daughter Lauren, son Justin, daughter Carol, step-daughter Stacey, step-son Eugene, partner Gene, sister Grace, brother Billy and father Bill, she is now joined with her son Matthew, husband Joel, aunt Lilly, aunt Marie, and mother Kitty.

Your generous donation and loving thoughts are a light of hope to St. Jude children and their families. St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
It costs a lot for St. Jude to cure a child with cancer using the latest technologies and care. But because of donations, the price for patient families is $0. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for anything.
Many families come to St. Jude thinking it's like any other hospital. They expect to pay high fees to get their child the best care. They're overwhelmed with gratitude when they learn St. Jude works to save their child's life for free using world-class care.
Your donations make this possible and give parents hope.
