Jeremy Daegan Hicks (April 28, 1993 - July 9, 2006)
Jeremy was a typical, happy, healthy 12 year old boy. In late July 2005 we were at the lake and noticed that Jeremy started limping over the weekend. He was going to basketball camp so we thought he may have injured his foot or ankle. He said his foot and leg weren't hurting but that he did have a mild backache. He went to basketball practice the following week ready to play ball. However, Jeremy's basketball coach set him out of practice on Tuesday because he kept tripping over his foot. We immediately took him to the doctor where they did an MRI just to check out everything because they discovered during his exam that he had foot drop. We found out that Jeremy had a spinal cord tumor. Surgery was scheduled and on Thursday we found out that the tumor was in his spinal cord and could not be completely removed. Diagnostic tests revealed that his tumor was an Anaplastic Astrocytoma. Suddenly, our world came crashing in on us. Our 12 year old son had cancer!!! Jeremy had an aggressive cancer that had no cure!!! So, we went to St. Jude for an experimental treatment in hopes that it would save Jeremy's life. Sadly, the treatments didn't work and Jeremy died 11 months later. He died 2 months after he turned 13. Our lives will never be the same again....
So, Please Donate to St. Jude and Help Jeremy's Wish come true. Jeremy's wish was for a cure for childhood cancer so that no child would have to go through what he did.
