John was initially diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003. His 12 year plight with cancer, included times of remission. During those times, he was able to travel to many different places, including, Louisiana and Mississippi to visit family; several trips with his loving wife Carol to California. He was always planning his next vacation destination. He was a fighter and faced his battle with courage, determination and perseverance. He lived life to the fullest both before and during his courageous plight. He was witty and loved to make people laugh. It was one of his many gifts. He faced every day as a new day, with a fresh outlook.
