Family, friends, Colleagues, and Mentors:
I was recently inspired to use my birthday as an occasion to celebrate St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and raise funds in support of their efforts.
I often mention that Tennessee was the first place that I lived when moving from Jamaica. That is because St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was my first home in the US.
In 1992 I was diagnosed with a somewhat rare cancer that the hospitals in Jamaica did not have the technology to treat. However, thanks to St. Jude's I was flown to the US, admitted to their hospital, and cured of my illness! They provided me with hundreds of thousands of dollars in treatments free of cost.
Over the past year I have experienced countless ups and downs. Every tear and every smile was made possible by the generosity of the people who work at, and who support, St. Jude's.
Today, I ask that you become one of those people.
Over the next month--from May 31st until June 30th--I will be working toward the fundraising goal of $500. If you are able, please donate and share this page!
Again, I would not have had the pleasure of knowing you all had it not been for this wonderful organization. Please join me in thanking them by contributing to the life of another sick child.
xox,
Antoinette King
