Why I'm fundraising for St. Jude
Each December since 2016 Andrew Dean, a Delta Diamond Medallion Frequent flyer more commonly known as #AndrewTheElf, has booked a series of flights on Delta Air Lines the week of Christmas and flown around the country with the purpose of raise as much as he can for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital all while helping reduce the stress of holiday travel by bringing joy and laughter to fellow travelers.
The original goal in 2016 was to raise $1,500 by sharing his story but by the end of the day over $13,500 was raised due to the generosity of hundreds of fellow Diamond Medallions, holiday travelers, the cheer and dance community, friends, family and complete strangers. Since then, this annually 24-36 hour holiday fundraising tradition has raised over $128,000 for St. Jude with 100% of the donations going directly to the cause.
This years fundraiser fundraiser will include 5 flights all over the country over the course of 36 hours. #AndrewTheElf will spend nearly 19 hours in the air criss-crossing the country during his journey to 6 different cities, with some fun surprises along the way! While traveling, Andrew will be making in-flight announcements on the planes, gate announcements on the ground and share his story of why St. Jude is so important to him all while collecting donations in person and online keeping the world updated as he travels the country.
This years fundraising goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of the adventure.
As always, #AndrewTheElf believes it’s not the amount you donate, your generosity is what matters and he’s happy that you got involved.
Please share with your friends and family and follow along through the adventure by checking in on the page and following the #AndrewTheElf hashtag!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
