When is St. Jude PLAY LIVE?
Anytime! You can fundraise and sign up whenever you want. During the month of May, we provide increased support, prizes and weekly challenges. To see what our current promotions are check out our prize page.
Who can participate?
Anyone over the age of 13.
Do I have to stream?
Nope. You're welcome to play games and raise awareness for the kids of St. Jude without streaming your games. Be sure to use social media or our email tool to let family and friends know when you'll be playing.
How do I stream?
All St. Jude PLAY LIVE streaming is done using our partner Twitch.
You will be given the option, both during registration and within your fundraising center, to indicate if you want your Twitch stream to appear on your personal fundraising page. As long as you've entered your Twitch ID, your stream will appear automatically anytime you have selected "yes" you would like your stream to be visible. You are free to change this option at any time.
Team captains should also add the Twitch IDs of their team members so they appear on the team fundraising page.
Please note that streaming may require additional hardware or software and will consume more data than just playing a game.
What games can I stream?
You can stream any game that has an ESRB rating of “Teen” or lower.
If you want to play “M” rated games, you will need to log in to your fundraising center and select “no” to the question of whether you would like your stream visible on your personal page.
Streaming content that is deemed objectionable will result in your account being removed from the program. Find out more about the ESRB rating system.
What can I do during my stream?
You are welcome to stream however you choose, provided you follow a few simple guidelines:

How can people donate? Who gets the money?
Donations by credit card or PayPal can be made directly through your fundraising page, which you can set up as soon as you sign up. All money goes directly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
How can I submit cash and check donations?
If you receive a cash donation, you will need to convert it to a check or money order, payable to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and follow the process for check donations below.
Please note, if you write a personal check for the cash given to you, it cannot be credited to the original donor. By law, we can only give credit and a tax deduction to the writer of the check.
Can I edit my information after I’ve registered?
Absolutely. Just log in to your fundraising center and click the Update Question Responses link on the right side. Team captains can also add or remove team members here.
How can I earn academic service hours?
Time spent fundraising for St. Jude, including fundraising while playing games for St. Jude PLAY LIVE, is eligible for service-hour credit through most schools and organizations.
If you are interested in earning service hours, please select "Service Hours" during the registration process. We count every $100 raised as the equivalent of 10 hours' worth of credit. Credit is given out in $100/10 hour blocks. For example, $180 will count for 10 hours of credit, and $200 for 20.
Service hour participants will receive an email at the end of their fundraising verifying how many service hours they've earned.
Do teams share prizes or service hours?
No. Prizes and service hours are earned on an individual basis.
Are donations made to St. Jude PLAY LIVE tax-deductible?
Donations made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. After you make a donation, we'll send you the paperwork you need for your taxes. Find out more.
Team captains have the ability to create team t-shirts and sell them through Design By Humans by clicking the banner at the top of the participant center. Once you've finished this, head back to the participant center and click the Update Question Responses link on the right side. At the bottom of the page, there will be a field for your Design By Human's username/storename. Once you've filled out that form, hit save and your store will be embedded in your team page. Note: you must have an approved t-shirt design for your store to appear.
