Terry Keith Hall, 77, of Fox Lake, IL, passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who never met a person he didn’t like or avoided a joke because it was too corny.
Terry was born in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, the son of Harold and Ruth (Carpenter) Hall. He attended Winfield High School (Class of 1965) where he excelled in wrestling, track, and football. In college, he attended University of Iowa (Class of 1970) and majored in General Science. There he met the love of his life, Ann Shegrud, and the two were married on November 26, 1970.
Terry and Ann lived in Iowa City, Iowa, until 1996 where they raised their two children, Brad and Stephanie. Life in Iowa City was filled with summer family vacations in the motorhome traveling from coast to coast. Terry especially enjoyed making trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and Florida. In 1997, Terry and Ann moved to Fox Lake, Illinois, where he fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a boat and he became a grandfather to four grandchildren. For most of his life, Terry worked in the agricultural industry. After retirement, he enjoyed time with his grandkids, taking his boat out on the Chain O’Lakes, and he continued his hobbies of collecting and fixing old radios, reading science fiction, and working on numerous home improvement projects.
